Tombs : These are monumental structures built to house the graves of rulers and royalty. They were usually placed within heavenly features such as gardens, reservoirs, or both.

Delhi

Humayun's Tomb ( Maqbara - e-Humayun ): Built under the patronage of Humayun's first wife, Empress Hamida Banu Begum. It was designed by Mirak Mirzagias and his son, Sayyid Muhammad. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993 .

Tomb of Muhammad Shah : Located on the southwest edge of Lodhi Gardens in Delhi, it was built in the 15th century .

Safdarjung's Tomb : It was built in 1754 in the Mughal Empire style for Nawab Safdarjung.

Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb : The mosque and tomb were built in 1528-1529 and Jamali was buried in the tomb after his death in 1536 .

Tomb of Sultan Ghari : Built in 1231 AD , it was the first Islamic mausoleum built for Nasiru'd - Din Mahmud of the Slave Dynasty .

 

Gujarat

Mahabat Tomb : This is a mausoleum in Junagadh. It is dedicated to Nawab Mahabat Khan II of Junagadh State. Its construction was initiated by Nawab Mahabat Khan II in 1878 and completed in 1892 during the reign of Nawab Bahadur Khan III .

Bahauddin's Tomb : This tomb is located in Junagadh. It was built between 1891 and 1896 by Bahauddin Hussain Bhar, a minister of Mahabat Khan II.

Other Tombs : Tomb of Sikandar Shah , Tomb of Khwaja Safar Suleimani , Hajira or Tomb of Qutbuddin Muhammad Khan , Tomb of Khudawand Khan.

 

Haryana

Sheikh Chilli's Tomb : Built by Mughal prince Dara Shikoh in honor of his spiritual guru, Sheikh Chilli. It is also known as the " Taj Mahal of Haryana . "

Tomb of Khwaja Bandenawaz : Located in Gulbarga, Karnataka. Khwaja Banda Nawaz ( also known as Hazrat Gesoon Nawaz or Muhammad Gesudaraz ) was a Sufi saint of the Chishti order.

Gol Gumbaz : This is a 17th -century mausoleum located in Bijapur . Built between 1627 and 1656 , it is the tomb of King Mohammed Adil Shah. It was designed by the architect Yaqut of Dabul.

Madhya Pradesh

Hoshang Shah's Tomb : Built in the 15th century in Mandu, it is considered India's first marble tomb. Other Tombs : Tomb of Mohammad Ghaus , Tomb of Tansen , Tomb of Sawai Singh , Tomb of Mahmud Khilji , Tomb of Adil Shah Faruqui.

Maharashtra

Aurangzeb's Tomb : Built between 1678 and 1707 and designed by Azam Shah, it was located in Aurangabad.

Bibi - ka - Maqbara : This is the tomb of Rabia - ul - Daurani, also known as Dilras Banu Begum ( wife of Aurangzeb ) . It was built by Prince Azam Shah in memory of his mother between 1651 and 1661. It was located in Aurangabad .

Qutb Shahi Tombs : Located in Hyderabad, it was built in memory of the late kings of Golconda.

Uttar Pradesh

Akbar's Tomb : Located in Sikandra , Agra , Uttar Pradesh, it was built between 1605 and 1613 by the Mughal emperor Jahangir.

Tomb of Salim Chishti : It was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar between 1580 and 1581 in Fatehpur Sikri , Agra.

Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb : It is a Mughal tomb in the city of Agra. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River, it is also known as the " Baby Taj . " It was built around 1625 AD .

Tomb of Mariam - uz - Zamani , Sikandra : This tomb was built in the 16th century and is dedicated to Mariam - uz - Zamani, the mother of the Mughal emperor Jahangir. It is believed to have been used as a refuge by the British during the Indian Rebellion of 1857 .
